Thomson Smillie Foundation Pont Drift to Cape Town Cycle Tour a huge success

Twelve days and 2100km later, a group of nine amazing cyclists that rode from Pont Drift, including Sectional Title Solutions sponsored rider and Joburg’s own Travis Barrett, arrived in Cape Town. The cycle tour ended at Fish Hoek High School where the team received a warm welcome from the scholars, who were thankful for this initiative that provides bursaries to children in need.

Through this initiative, the STS Group helped raise awareness for the Foundation, whilst also raising money towards their education programme. The Thomson Smillie Foundation works to empower South Africans from disadvantaged backgrounds, by giving them access to education, jobs, and their basic human rights. The funds raised will support children in getting their secondary education at Fish Hoek High School, empowering the community through education.

The Sectional Title Solutions Group (STS Group) are committed to uplifting communities by creating sustainable change that has a positive impact across South Africa. With their firm focus on the future, supporting an initiative aimed at raising awareness and generating funds for basic education such as the Thomson Smillie Foundation’s Pont Drift to Cape Town Cycle Tour 2021, was an easy call.

What we do has a real impact on people’s lives and the planet. We take this responsibility seriously, and we have the innate drive to serve our community and the environment. As a company, we are proud to have sponsored the Thomson Smillie Foundation’s Pont Drift to Cape Town Cycle Tour. We are very excited, and many of our staff are already practising for the virtual ride.

JOHNNY WATES STS Group CEO

Should you wish to assist the foundation in this endeavour, they are hosting a one-of-a-kind virtual ride event, where you get the chance to ride along with live footage from the tour and raise much-needed awareness and funds from the comfort of your own home. Over the twelve days, the cycling team passed through and recorded some of South Africa’s most amazing sceneries including the Karoo and some of the Cape Winelands.
